U.S State Department representative Sara Abbas visited the Access Microscholarship Program at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) on September 12, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to explore the progress and projects that young learners have engaged with since the Program began in 2021. The purpose of the Access Microscholarship Program is to provide classes on English language and leadership skills, and introduce American values to young learners from the Suilamani area. In addition, learners get to improve their speaking skills and participate in various activities to build their ability to be active citizens in their communities. AUIS Academic Preparatory Program (APP) Director Ms. Zimkitha Mpatheni and Administrative Manager Mr. Ahmed Aram manage the Access Microscholarship Program, with classes taught by Ms. Kristen Shaffer.
