AUIS President Bruce Walker Ferguson paid a visit to the Basrah Museum on October 3, 2019. Opened to the public in March of this year, the museum has thousands of objects on display. President Ferguson met with Museum Director Qahtan Alabeen, and toured the facility with Paul Collins, the Jaleh Hearn Curator of Ancient Near East at Oxford University's Ashmolean Museum; Joan Porter MacIver, the Vice Chair and Former Director of the British Institute for the Study of Iraq; and Barbara Porter, the Director of the American Center for Oriental Research in Amman, Jordan.
While in Basrah, President Ferguson stopped by the Times Square Mall to visit AUIS Admissions staff at the University’s information booth. AUIS’s Admissions team will be at the Mall until October 29 to meet with prospective students and families.
