Greek Recognition of AUIS Degrees Opens New Opportunities for Alumni

The Greek Consulate General in Erbil announced in a tweet on April 12, 2023 that its government would now recognize degrees from American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS) and public universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, opening new masters degree opportunities for graduates at institutions in Greece. 
 
According to the announcement, graduates of eligible universities can apply for some 150 masters degrees in English. Prospective graduate students interested in degree programs can find more information on Greece’s Ministry of Education website.
 
The news also follows a visit by a delegation from the Consulate General of Greece in Erbil and National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) to AUIS on November 27, 2022. The delegation met with AUIS representatives to discuss future exchange programs.
