Admission Counselor

                               

Position Summary: Responsible for implementing programs and activities designed to enrol new students at AUIS. Participates in full range of recruitment and admissions efforts, including travel, group presentations, individual meetings, application review and related duties as assigned.                                                       

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment: implementation of student recruitment strategies for assigned geographic area; working with established budgets for travel, special events and promotions including tracking for cost effectiveness; participation in events on campus.
  • Data Entry and report preparation:
  • Counseling: working with prospects and guiding them through their choices; keeping them informed with key information related to admissions
  • Application Processing: tracking of missing documents and informing students
  • Customer Service: answering Admissions phone, social media messages, working with walk guests, leading campus tours
  • Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Basic Expectations:

  • A significant amount of time travelling is central to the position. It is expected that counselors are on the road for 9-10 weeks per year.
  • Weekend work expected for campus events, visit days, fairs, tests, etc. 

Minimal Qualifications:                              

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience: Previous experience in admissions/marketing preferred

Skills:             

  • Extremely strong communication skills (oral and written) in English and Kurdish/Arabic
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong self-motivation and initiative
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Attention to detail, data management
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and database applications

Other:

  • Willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to spend time on the road for extensive recruitment travel
