Dr. Barham Salih, founder of AUIS, and former prime minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq, participated in the first plenary session on the geopolitical transformation of the Middle East at the Global Strategic Review conference in Oslo. The speakers discussed the transformation in the political and economic order of the Middle East in light of the ongoing military conflicts in Syria and Iraq and the rise of the Islamic State. The discussion focused on the policies by both regional and extra-regional powers and the effectiveness of the multilateral coalition against the rise of terrorism and regional political conflict in the Middle East.
