The Moulakis Library at AUIS successfully carried out a heartfelt project called "Artful Mind: Reading and Art Program for Orphans" in collaboration with the Sulaymaniyah Orphanage for Girls on May 14, 2023. AUIS students also had the opportunity to volunteer and visit the orphanage, where they gifted presents to the children, read them stories, and engaged in art activities such as painting and drawing.
On October 24, 2018, the Moulakis Library hosted a screening of “The Internet's Own Boy” as part of events to mark International Open Access Week. This year marks the tenth annual Open Access Week, this time under the theme “designing equitable foundations for open knowledge.”
“The Internet's Own Boy” tells the story of computer programmer and internet activist Aaron Swartz. The award-winning documentary, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014, follows the life of Swartz as he explores questions around ownership and access to information.
