On July 19-20, 2016, Dr. Farzad Sanati, assistant professor at AUIS Department of Information Technology, was invited to speak at a seminar on e-government at the University of Sydney. The seminar was arranged for a Chinese government delegation traveling to Australia to learn more about the Australian experience in implementation of e-government. The event focused on the foundations, implementation, methodologies and practical challenges facing the e-government paradigm.

Dr. Sanati has extensive experience in e-government and ICT projects in Australia and in an advisory role to the e-government and ICT department of Jiangsu Province in China. He also completed his PhD in computing science from the University of Technology Sydney for his research work on e-government integration methodologies. Last year, Dr. Sanati organized a joint e-government conference with the University of Sulaimani in Kurdistan. The event was attended by leading academics, government (KRG) executives, and ICT industry leaders to exchange and share their experiences and opinions on implementing e-Government in Kurdistan.
